Death Inc., a film by Jeremy Tarshis and Josh Birch

Yes, our eccentricity has produced a movie treatment.

Tonight, at a little bar in Salt Lake City, a particularly funny and darker than usual Josh and myself came up with an idea for a business.  This business provides death for those who wish it, but do not wish to take their own lives.

Yes, it is rather stupid isn't it.

But, it is very funny.  Essentially, we were going to write a movie about a world where it is common place to outsource your death to a third-party company rather than just waiting for death or natural causes to get you.  In this world, there is an obsession with a prestigious death, or one facilitated by an outside party.  In fact, it would be a social faux pas to NOT go through a death dealer.

Our story would be about the fight for survival of one such company.  This company is called Birch and Sons, Death Dealers.  The fight for survival would come from a lawsuit filed against the company which promised a swift and clean death, that was botched by an employee, and how that person sued the company for ungodly amounts of money.  After the lawsuit, the company is forced to downsize and try to stay alive against their competition who now has gained a considerable advantage against Birch and Sons.

If not just sad or even bleak, this movie would be funny and ironic.  At the helm of all this humor you have myself and Josh Birch who are just absurdly funny.  I think this movie could work.  Josh of course would be the president of the company, I would serve as a regional manager and there would be various other funny people in the movie.

The movie would feature a corporate office, conversations around the water cooler, phone sales, door-to-door sales and a variety of death styles.  Death styles such as: slow death, painful, historic, surprise, "natural" accident, controlled aging, among various ridiculous other styles.  I think this movie should definitely be shot documentary style, and I think Vince Vaughn should definitely be in the movie.

So, I haven't blogged in a bit but I think this will be at least a mildly entertaining read.  So thanks bro!
